Boston Manor Summer

What a perfect day. Who needs the med when you have London in the sun? We bought some fresh mackerel and sardines this morning, chilled a bottle of Gavi and made a perfect chilli and avocado salsa. While the fish was marinating the fire was built - it took some time to achieve the perfect 'white' coals. The mackerel, after being marinated in olive oil, garlic and rosemary and a little seasoning, sizzled amiably on the fire, followed by sardines and courgettes. All this on a tiny bucket bbq, in a tiny garden flat near Boston Manor, filled with white, yellow and pink scented roses. Who would think life could get so pleasant?
